About Just Wick Candles

Since 1971, we have been crafting candles by hand, using only the finest ingredients. In that year, Ed established Just Wick Handcrafts, a small shop in downtown Athens, primarily as a showcase for the candles he was making.

During the seven and a half years the shop was open, Ed, soon joined by Betty-Anne, gained an enthusiastic and still loyal following of candle lovers who appreciate beautiful one-of-a-kind candles that are reliable and long burning. Our tradition of creating fine candles continues to this day from a studio behind our home where we have been joined by our son John in this family endeavor.

The quality of our candles is ensured by paying close attention to details. We use the best quality wax, wick, and dye, and we generously scent each candle with our signature Gooseberry fragrance. The size and weave of the wick are matched to the melting point of the wax to give maximum burning time.

Each step in the making of our candles contributes to an end product that is very utilitarian yet will look beautiful and retain its pleasant scent for a long time. The heart on the bottom of each of our candles represents the love we pour into our art and the good will we wish for all.
